Verity’s Village has many team members who help make our mission happen. Below you will find each of our team members, a description of their position within Verity’s Village, and a link to a blog post that shares more about their lives, families, and why they are a part of our non-profit. Thank you for learning a little more about us as we also seek to know and pray for each of our community members.

Founder/CEO

Beverly Jacobson

The Founder and President of Verity’s Village is none other than our own Beverly Jacobson. She founded Verity’s Village in December 2020 after recognizing parents who receive a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis for their babies need hope, information, and practical support.

Social Media Manager and Public Relations Coordinator

Brooke Shambley

As our Social Media Manager, Brooke Shambley plans social media posts to educate, encourage, and update both followers and those who need to find Verity’s Village. In addition to social media, she puts together blog posts that highlight the stories of our families and organizes posts that highlight the team members of Verity’s Village.

In her new role as Public Relations Coordinator, she is reaching out to local, national, and global businesses to share the news about Verity’s Village’s mission. In addition to business relations, she will be connecting with donors as a liaison to Verity’s Village.

Group Administrator and Parent Care Coordinator

Kathryn Kerr

As a “veteran” of Verity’s Village, Kathryn has served as a volunteer moderator in our online support groups. She knows very well what this journey entails, having gone through it herself. She is currently in training as our first Parent Care Coordinator and excited to extend our support to more families affected by a life-limiting diagnosis.

Counselors

Allen and Patricia Cooke

Allen and Patricia Cooke come to Verity’s Village, not just as counselors, but as grandparents to their little Jewel who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 in utero. They know what it is like to be grandparents who experienced a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis for their granddaughter, and now they serve other parents who receive a diagnosis. They are both certified AACC counselors and run Paraclete Counseling Services. We are excited to be able to offer counseling services led by Allen and Patricia to our Verity’s Village families within our group pages.

Joyce Zick

Joyce has served as a board member of the Verity’s Village Board of Directors since the beginning and was on board with Beverly’s heart and mission before Verity’s Village came to fruition. She currently works hard to bring life to women on the mission’s field, and in her spare time, she works to bring hope to parents with a life-limiting diagnosis.
