Janet, will you tell us a bit about yourself?

I was born in Roseville, California. I grew up in a suburb of Sacramento and accepted Christ as a teenager. Campus Life Youth for Christ and a good friend were instrumental in my conversion. I’m an RN, obtained at American River Community College in CA. I completed my BSN a few years later at University of Nebraska Medical Center. As a nurse, I’ve worked in various roles. By far, one of the most rewarding roles I had was caring for Verity. My favorite hobby is gardening.

.

Will you tell us about your family?

I’ve been married for 37 years and have one grown daughter. My husband and I look forward to every opportunity we get to spend with her and her husband. My husband is retired Air Force. We moved to Colorado Springs in 2001.

.

What is something funny that no one would guess about you?

I was somewhat of a daredevil as a child, jumping off bridges and riding motorbikes.

.

What is your favorite drink?

Coffee, any flavor!

.

What is your top 3 favorite podcasts/books/musical artist (you choose)?

My favorite three books are “The Insanity of God,” “Man’s Search for Meaning” and “Gardentopia.”

.

How long have you served Verity’s Village?

About two months

.

Why did you join with Verity’s Village mission?

I had the privilege of caring for Verity as one of her nurses for several years. For parents, initially the challenges can be daunting. But with support, they are eager to learn how to care for these special children. Witnessing how Verity was loved and cherished by her family helped underscore, in my mind, the value of life. Beverly’s passion to minister to and help these families has inspired me to get involved. I believe ALL pre-born children have value. God’s Word tells us “For it was you (O Lord) who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb…”

.

What is the most important thing you have done with Verity’s Village?

Not much yet!…though may I add, financial support.

Thank you, Janet, for sharing about your life, your family, and your passion for Verity’s Village! Also, thank you for joining the Board of Directors!
